On the emerge of street exhibition

having a quick look at the contemporary art scene, reveals the strong connection of the mainstream art and the market. In the age of consumption, everything has turned into products. for art is the same. we have mass production / mass consumption of art. and this changes the relationship between artist and artwork. The artistic experience is now mixed with marketing skills and requires the complicated relationship between the artist / curator / gallery / customer (buyer). the mainstream artist, now, not only should think about which kind of art to make (to sell good in the market), but also should think about how to find and connect to the social network which help him sell his (art) product.
For us, art is about freedom, and we think that this all process is against the free art and the freedom of artistic act.

the whole process of contemporary art is reducing the artist to an engineer. which knows how to make the art products which are saleable in the market. and the art academies and schools are doing a good job on mass-producing the artists as engineers. and so this is not by chance to check a gallery and see the similar stuff which you checked last week from another artist. We want to say no to be the bi-products of a mass-production system.

There is a famous saying, "The art history, is made by artists ". this is a big lie. "The art history, is getting selected and developed by Art Historians, critics and journals" . in the age of explosion of art movements, there will be not enough space any more in the art books and journals to present all of the movements. We say No to High Art. we dont care to get the label of “higher art” or “valuable art” by anybody. we dont care about anything, but the art itself. we are people who make art for people. we dont care about getting seen in a gallery, or a magazine. we say No to being known as special, and so we open ourselves to any kind of experience in art.

That's why we choose street to show our art. we dont make the art as a special product which needs a special process of marketing like curators and galleries and stuff to get sold to some rich people. we choose street because it is the simplest place to put our artwork so that people see them. we occupy streets again for art. our art is to be seen by people!
